Prado Museum is located in one of the most elegant boulevards in Madrid: the famous “Paseo del Prado”, which actually means “meadow”.
In the 18th century, Philippe of Anjou arrived from France to fill the power vacuum left by the last Habsburg, who died with no descendants. He will become Philippe the 5th of Spain, our first Bourbon king. His son, Charles the 3rd, ordered the creation of a science area, composed by different constructions outside the city, where a meadow was located. That is the origin of one of the most outstanding and biggest painting museums in the world.
You will enjoy centuries of art and culture together with our licensed guide, who can adapt to your interest and choose for you masterpieces of our Spanish School, without forgetting the impressive collection of Flemish and Italian art.
