Walk through the oldest part of the city and get immersed in its diverse history

Madrid de los Austrias was the name given to this area during the reign of the Habsburgs. In this walking tour you will discover, together with our official guide, some hidden plazas and cultural gems, while you stroll on the winding streets of our old town.

We’ll take the pulse of the city together while we walk along Puerta del Sol, where Madrilenians celebrate New Year’s Eve, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa…. In Oriente square, we’ll admire the splendid front of our Royal Palace, one of the biggest ones in Europe, built in the 18th century exactly at the same place where the old “Alcazar“ used to be. Actually, Madrid was born there, in the 9th century b.C.

While we walk around, we will discover the architecture and traditions of the capital of Spain, old monasteries that still are active, old markets transformed into successful tapas bars, historical buildings that we recycled into different kinds of public or private institutions, and establishments, etc. Be ready to discover the heart of this city and to fall in love with Madrid!
