“La Corrida de Toros” (Bullfighting) is an ancient, unique and vital tradition that reached the sophistication of symbols, moves, colors, ceremonies and habits after centuries of evolution, through different manifestations, and always with the presence of the wild bull.

It is defined as a cultural event or heritage that remains alive in most areas of Spain and Portugal as well as in some Hispanic American countries and Southern France. An impressive confrontation among a magnificent wild free-range bull, raised with little human contact breed for its aggression and physique.

Bullfighting traces its roots to prehistoric bull worship and sacrifice in Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean region. The first recorded bullfight may be the Epic of Gilmanesh, which describes a scene in which Gilgamesh and Enkidu fought and killed the Bull of Heaven portrayed in Crete and myths related to bulls throughout Greece. It is essential to be initiated on this art, by an expert, before attending a Bullfight, to be able to understand, admire and appreciate from a personal perspective.

Our expert team will come to your hotel to take you to a traditional “Taberna Taurina”, a typical tavern located close to Las Ventas arena, where you will start merging with the bullfighting fans atmosphere. While enjoying a drink, our expert will introduce you into the bullfighting world before walking to the magnificent, Mudejar style Bull Ring of Las Ventas, where you will be able to experience what a “corrida de toros” means (if a bullfighting is not taking place on that day, we will visit the Bullfighting Museum instead of).
