Madrid has a privileged location that allows us to reach small villages, countryside properties and even other cities in a short distance. Having in mind that we have in addition more than 100 sunny days a year and generally mild winters, we are lucky to be in a great destination for families and outdoor activities.

In Toledo or Ciudad Real, for example, there are several estates specializing in the activity of hunting, a very popular tradition practiced in this area. Perhaps the most prized, for its beauty and tradition, is the driven partridge shooting. We can either participate from the hunters’ position, for those with experience in the field, or from the scouts’ position, for those who simply want to watch the birds, or to be more exact, scare them with sticks, noise and handkerchiefs, so that they take flight and are exposed. 

For those that prefer to join other outdoor activities, we can prepare other options that go from hiking, 4×4 jeep drives and quad biking routes to clay pigeon shooting, horse riding or hot air ballooning. The activity can be complemented with a picnic lunch with a chance to sample some of the fabulous local produce.
