Your guide will walk you from the hotel to the Spanish Navy’s headquarters, located on the city’s Art Walk. This museum takes you on a journey through Spain’s maritime history from its earliest days to the 20th century. The collection displayed includes weapons, flags, uniforms, and the crown jewel: a World Map dating back to 1500, the first known cartographic representation of the American continent!

You will learn about the different types of ships and shipbuilding systems developed throughout history; the scientific advances in navigation and related sciences, such as cartography and astronomy; the weapons and equipment used for life on board; the Spanish discoveries and expeditions during the Modern Age; and the evolution of the Navy itself throughout its 8 centuries of history.

From there, you will take a very pleasant walk into the most popular park for the Madrilenians, the lively Retiro Park.
