Biarritz is considered nowadays one of the top summertime destinations in the whole of France and a European capital for surfing with its’ white sand beaches and pristine color waters. Conversely, this coastal town that belongs to the french Basque area, is full of history, as it was Empress Eugénie’s (Napoleón III’s wife) favorite vacation destination, who transformed this quiet fishing village into a glamorous beach side town. The streets keep the magnificence of the great times in the early 1900s and the historical value of some of the most iconic buildings is hors categorie. The mixture of cultures (You’ll listen indistinctly to french, Basque language and Spanish all over the place) gives a unique touch and you’ll feel the sophisticated ambience kept throughout the years.
In this tour we will move with a premium private vehicle and one of our local expert guides at all times. We will depart from your hotel in San Sebastian with directions to Biarritz, where we will enjoy a historical guided walk through the village where we will visit the most emblematic spots as well as some hidden gems that undoubtedly will catch the attention of the most curious eyes. You are going to be able to realize why it is considered such a top spot as a beach destination and later on we’ll make our way to San Juan de Luz, a traditional Basque fishing village that will be a very interesting contrast to the resplendence of Biarritz, which is well known for its fine and high end gastronomy. After enjoying a traditional lunch, we will go back to San Sebastian, with the option to pass by Hondarribia, a borderline village between France and Spain.
